Why Lanek exists
Irish practices run the year on a patchwork: a practice manager here, a tax package there, a spreadsheet for the calendar and email for everything else. Most of those tools were built for another market and adapted for Ireland afterwards, so Revenue's dates, the CRO and ROS sit at the edges instead of the centre. The same client is keyed in again and again, deadlines live in someone's head, and the practices paying for it all do the joining-up by hand.
So we sat down with practitioners and listened. What we heard surprised us: the pain wasn't the same everywhere. The tasks and obligations are fairly standard, but every practice gets them done its own way. Who does what, in what order, how it's checked and when the client hears about it. We've come to call it the practice essence.
That informed key parts of the build. Software that makes a practice change to suit it is easy to make and hard to live with. The harder job is a tool that fits the way you already work, without upending it. There was no ready-made answer for that, so we had to find new ones.
Lanek is our answer. You won't find another tool like it, because no one else has set out to solve the problem this way. One system for the calendar, the client record, the work, the letters, the fees and the filings, built around the Irish rulebook from the start, sitting on the books you already keep and shaped around how your practice runs.
Every return is checked against the books before it goes, a person signs off every filing, and it comes as one subscription with no add-ons. We're a small team, building in Ireland for Irish practices, and we're still listening. If your practice does something its own way, we want to hear about it.
